Private tutor in New Britain, CT
University of Connecticut - BA, Psychology, Anthropology , University of Baltimore - JD, Law
I'm very lucky that I accidentally discovered teaching (I originally planned to be a lawyer), because it has become my career path. I really enjoy working with students, and I have experience teaching a variety of subjects to all ages. I'm certified to teach English as a second language, and I have taught this both here in the US, as well as abroad in China. I have experience as a private tutor, working individually with students. I also have experience with group classes that focused on English as a second language, language arts skills, and college and standardized test preparation. I've worked with all age ranges, from young children to adults, to help them develop good study skills and better time management. I work closely with my tutoring students to learn their interests so that I can incorporate these into lessons and help the subject matter become easier to relate to. When a student has fun with a tough subject, they will be more willing and able to learn it. In my spare time, I'm working on improving my Chinese language skills, and I've also started learning Arabic. Of course, I enjoy traveling. I also enjoy reading and dancing.
